Wildlife encounters on the slopes
Most of us enjoy skiing and riding because it is an amazing way to enjoy scenery and be active in an outdoor setting. Rarely though do we encounter anything besides other humans when we go to the slopes. In the Winter, most sensible animals have gone into hibernation or retreated to lower altitudes to wait out the season. Every once in a while though some form of wildlife will make its way onto a ski slope and it often makes for a thrilling encounter.
BEAR CHASES SKIER
From a ski resort in Romania, this young skier was chased by a Brown Bear that had been seen roaming around the slopes earlier in the day. No injuries were reported and the skier was able to escape.
This video is from a ski area in India, where these off-piste skiers encountered a snow leopard hiding in the snow, after a brief faceoff, the leopard makes a move towards one of the skiers, then runs away.
